dash lights dont come on :(

I was in the parking lot waiting for my girlfriend. She got there so a turned on my lights and I heard a little tick. I blew a fuse so I decided to replace it but i tried it again and it did the same thing. The highbeam lights and everything else work fine, it's just the speedometer, tachometer, and te other 4 gauges. And I replaced the light switch too so it's not that
Please help I am so stumped!!!!!

Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!

I bet it blows out your rear lights too. It's a short in there somewhere. I've had the same issue. What do you have hooked up that you have added?

My buddy had same problem... The shop put a paper clip in for the fuse and had people stand around and find where it smoked... They then changed that wire and walah it worked...
Took 3 shops to find it though

That sounds like a good way to start a fire too. I wouldn't use a paperclip and wait for smoke...the fuses are there for that reason exactly.

It would be good if he can just tell us what he has added.

You said you blew the fuse twice right? If thats the case then it does sound like you have a short somewhere that is just going to keep blowing it. If you own a continuity tester and dont mind folowing your wire for a bit then i suggest doing that. No promises that its even the problem but thats just what i would do.

I'd say get a wiring diagram & get into that dash to find that short. I have the same problem after messing around with sub amp wiring without disconnecting the neg battery terminal 1st. All exterior ligts work but dash + a/c controls are dark. My stang goes through fuses the same way too. You're gonna have to find the short. A local Ford dealership estimated $300-$500 to find/fix it.
