WindStar Intake Fit with CDC shaker

Would a windstar kit fit on my 00 v6 that as a shaker hood scope on it?
Why should i get a windstar?
What is the purpose? just cooling engine?
Fill me in

It is an intake manifold. You have to modify the shaker.

the windstar adds performance due to better flow through the intake. i dont think the shaker will fit being that the windstar sits up higher than the stock manifold

Ya. But I don't list a hood scoop as a power adder.

If you get the complete system, without the windstar then yes it is functional....

Windstar is an intake manifold. It flows better thus adding more power. No it won't fit with your shaker hood

Unlike these haters, I think can easily be made to fit with a little fabrication. Would just have to figure out a different way to run the intake, but it could work...

And the good thing about the CDC hood insert is that the hole underneath is much larger, so you can space it and have it work fine for the height...

You'll probably be lucky to see 1hp with it. You can keep adding things to give your engine as much air as possible, but you can only flow so much through the intake tube/TB per second and you can only cram so much into each cylinder. All of which is also effected by the temperature of the air.

He's going to have to have the air filter mounted within the engine bay and fabricate a "heat shield," like the S197s use, that has an opening to run the air intake tube into and another opening to connect the hood scoop intake to. Then he's going to have to figure out how to mount the hood scoop on the Windstar. And I bet he's going to need a small cowl hood (like the Mach 1 hoods), because the Windstar doesn't leave a whole lot of room to work with.

OP, when all this is said and done you're going to have spent a ton of money for little to no additional power. You could probably get a cam for what this little project would end up costing (assuming you're buying the shaker new which I believe is around $800).

The windstar has longer intake runners than the stock intake manafold...longer and more direct path of the runner results in more power

When dyno'd by vap atuo it added 9hp/15tq......at the wheels and thts an intake froma minivan wtf ford making a minivan more effecent/faster then a sports car....lol

I never really understood why Ford didn't put the Windstar intakes on the V6 Mustangs. The intakes were around before the split port V6s so it would have been possible. Plus Ford would have been able to advertise the V6 Mustang as being (slightly) more powerful than the V6 Camaros.

They had a 3.8 and were rated at 200 or 205hp. I don't remember exactly and I'm not sure on the tq. When it came down to it, I think the faster car was basically the one with the better driver.
