Windstar or Wheels

So after a Craigslist sale last night I now have $550 in my possession for whichever I want. Can't decide on a set of used 2003 GT Bullitt wheels (2 offers, $350 with no caps/$550 with caps and in good condition mostly) OR a VAP Windstar kit.

I had my eye on both. I think I'll need new wheels down the road at some point though, I would love to get some pull out of my engine that I can smile about. Not sure if I will or not.

Help me decide? Just got my exhaust done, looking to move onto the next one.

as she stands.

I'm assuming you are stock? Go with wheels...pulling n/a power is a long hard road

01silversixer just made this decision harder! Hahaha.

I wish I was that wealthy to buy all our 6ers a turbo or something :/

:shrug

Wheels would look nice, but I don't know if they'd really make me that happy being stock bullitts. I sort of like the hypercoated silver look.

Paint them, but leave the lip alone. Silver cars look allot better with a polished lip. Buy DD down the road.

added: Also lower it.

I can't say they look SO bad on the car, but Bullitts would look a lot better. I was thinking of Hypercoated Saleen's but couldn't justify the price at the moment.

I see what they were saying earlier in the year about just buying a GT would have been smarter. Power wise bolt ons would have been fine and I'd be happy. But I got the mod bug terribly right now.

DD's, why not just wait then and save for brand new wheels..? xD

The v6 gives me the mod bug so I get indecisive about what's wise to do best. Haha, that's all. Okay, so I probably will get the wheels unless someone convinces me otherwise. I like your look Ahobos, but powerwise what do you have?

Dude gave me a picture of them, the tires aren't worn that much, probably around 50-60% and the rims look great. $350 and it's local.

I'm personally glad I got wheels. Not that the stock 16's look terrible, but the OEM cobras are gonna look like sex.

they're OEM 03/04 cobra wheels, 17x9. 275-40 BFG tires on them. Got them for $500 with the tires being almost brand new.

Should look something like this. (not my car)

Good choice, those look great, and will look awesome on your car. You should be happy.

I'm really feeling the wheels too, I'm just going to check around for some other wheels on CL I may get lucky.

(Off Topic): Our neighbor owns a C3 Corvette next door, white, damn, I would love to take that off his hands. It's not a garage car, he drives it to work sometimes but it's in alright shape. Could use a wash or 4.

Those look like they might be rims off of an 05+ car, the backspacing just looks a little funny to me for some reason, just be careful because I've heard that the wheels will look sunken in on the 99-04's if they are 05+, But I vote wheels as well. Best thing you can do to make your car handle better is a nice set of tires, makes the little power you have a lot more fun

The ad has them listed as 2003 Bullitts, but that's something to note. What makes you think that at first?

Trust me, stock Bullitts will only make you happy for so long. I bought my car with a set of stock Bullitts on it. Those wheels got a fresh set of all-season tires a month after I bought the car then as soon as the first winter was over I got some 18" black 2010 GT Premiums (staggered). As soon as the threat of snow is gone here those GT Premiums will go back on until it snows next fall/winter. Bullitts are nice, but I feel the stock Bullitts will just leave you wanting more. I say go with the Windstar and paint your current wheels black. Take a look at 6er old sixxer. It had stock wheels painted black and they looked good for being stock wheels. I think you'll be happier with the Windstar until you can afford some really nice wheels.

Just from looking at pictures of the two.

http://heslekrantsmotorsports.com/re...Mustang+FS.jpg
Heres the 05's

http://www.dragtimes.com/images/1193...rd-Mustang.jpg
heres the 99-04's

Can't say for sure from the picture but they just look a little more shallow in that picture than the 99-04's.

Worst case tho, just do a test fit before you buy them to make sure they fit right.
