HIDs 5000k

I am going to order an HID kit for my Mustang, but I was wondering what specifically I'll need. I have right here a link, could someone kindly go through the options and give me an idea as to what I'll be ordering?

HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

I'm also debating a Mach 1 Grille Delete, or saving the extra $60 and getting a nice new set of bullitts. If I get the wheels, I'll buy them June. I'm not getting my car lowered as of now, just spacers on the rear wheels. Why? I don't want anything to scrape and the stock height is okay with me for now. Besides, the cats look a bit low when I looked under the car today. I may get a picture up later.

Oh, and is 40 degree weather warm enough to install a vinyl black out?

A lot of questions, thanks in advance fellow sixers.

As far as the HID's...you just need 5000K, 9007 bulbs, hi/lo if you want to have high beams.

Thanks! I wonder why the AM ones are so much more. And right now, it's between Silver Bullitts, silver FR500s, and silver Cobra Rs. I should make a poll.

FR500s or Cobra Rs. FR500s if you want a nice classy look. Cobras if you want a real clean/simple look. Either one is a good choice. Are you going 17" or 18"? Just a heads up, 18's look really nice on our cars.

I'd get 18's only in the FR500s, but that'd be a lot more (replacing tires too not to forget). If I get the Cobra R's or Bullitts, it's going to be 17"s. I like the clean look, but also a retro one too. That's why I'm looking at Bullitts. Cobra R's do look great in silver, but I can't find pictures of them on a stock car that isn't lowered. :/

I dont have the resources to cut my springs, or the expertise to remove them. Else I would, but I don't mind the stock height as long as it has spacers in the back. With the bullitts, I'd be paying around $1,200 including 1.5in spacers.

EDIT: The GT prem. wheels look great on these cars I think, how do you like them?

18" tires aren't too bad. If you don't go staggered then the 245/45/18 Sumitomo HTR Z II tires are like $122 each from AM and I think even less from places like Tirerack. They're not the greatest tires, but they get the job done. Even if you do go staggered, 285/35/18 Sumitomo HTR Z II tires are around $169 each which I don't think is too bad. It almost cost me the for 245/45/17 all season tires on my Bullitts as it did for the Sumi's I got on my GT Premiums.

I love my 18" 2010 GT Premiums. I think the ride quality is nicer on them than on my 17" Bullitts and they seem to follow the cracks/grooves in the road less than the Bullitts. I've only got about 3000 miles on the tires but they're still in awesome shape. The only thing that bothers me is how easy painted wheels get scuffed/nicked from rocks and shit on the road. I've got some spots I've got to touch up before they go back on my car this spring Plus I like that not many people have them. I like FR500s, Cobras, Saleens, etc but a lot of people have them and I just like that I'm one of the few that went with GT Premiums

The gt premiums do look nice. Panic, i'd say go with FR500's. Bullits are so boring these days imo.
and idk why the AM HID kit is so expensive.

You 2 have good tastes in wheels, I think I'll try and decide between FR500's and GT Premiums, both hypercoated. May be a bit more, but it'll be worth it. McQueen, you're stock height arent you? They still look great.

I'll need a dual in/out harness for the HID setup too, right?

Yep, stock height. I'm thinking of going with FR B springs and Steeda X2 ball joints (1/2" drop in the front) in the summer for a more aggressive stance

The only thing that turns me off about springs is installation, I heard having a shop do it is expensive! But yeah, go for it!

And how my cats are about an inch lower from the bottom of the car. Kind of pisses me off..

Even more reason to take the cats off.
And no you don't need a dual in/out harness they give you one with the hi/lo kit.

Do you have the same kit? I remember I got the link from someone.. I think it's you haha. I think in PA I can take off 2 of the 4. How does the sound compare?

I have the same kit except 6000K.
And in PA you can't take any cats off technically. But I'm taking them both off. Fuck it haha.
Actually, it depends on if they do emissions in your county really.

Well the dude who did my exhaust said I could but I was like.. uh, really? So I may call and ask again. If it's simple just cut and replace pipe then it should be cheap too.. Didnt realize your from Pittsburgh. -shutters- I love that side of PA for feeling so different. My one ex lived in Monessen.

You should put pictures up of your HID's in the daylight and dark, that'd help my decision on whether I want 5 or 6000k

Yeah it shouldn't be much to get them off, just look into it before you do it and make sure your car will still pass inspection/emissions.

and I don't have any day time pics, but I have a couple night ones.

They look more blue/white and less purple in real life. Cell phone pics.

Springs are no big deal. Remove wheel, remove caliper/bracket, remove rotor, unbolt 2 bolts on strut, remove tierod, lower a-arm, remove old spring, put in new spring put everything back together, repeat for other side. Rears are basically the same

-smacks forehead- I'd need pictures for that, I don't know what any of those things look like

And I think I'm going to settle with 5000k with the pure white, both look good though! Thanks Silver.

Looks like your typical 50W HID kit. 2 year warranty and from the US which are mainly the things I look for.

Check out DDM. I believe their kits are under $50 and a lot of members here swear by them.
