Uhh.. The entire 8.8 rear end pretty much? Axles are only a small part of a rear end. You'd also need a different diff to use 31 spline axles in a 7.5 and I believe the same is true for a 8.8.

Unless you really plan on making like 300hp+ and using really sticky tires there's no need to go to 8.8.

Yes an 8.8 works ... I have 1 with 3.73s as well ...
Ill need it soon ![]() and btw ... your 7.5 can handle 300+hp really what matters is the torque you put on it ... it can handle 1000hp if you drive it right ... but who does that ??? really ?? lol 8.8 = more wieght. << some say bad, but hey, more weight equals more traction ![]() but a 7.5+tlok+bearing kit+gears+tuner = happy in your case. so you can go ahead and search any of that you dont know. 7.5-8.8 million threads out on it already :p |

Craigslist is a better place to search for a used 8.8 than ebay but I'd recommend checking out your local Pick'n'Pull or auto salvage yard. There are lots of totalled GTs out there (from folks who didn't know how to drive em) & 8.8 rears are a dime-a-dozen. They're a gold mine when it comes to pulling servicable parts + they're relatively inexpensive!

Make sure you check for rust & any visible physical damage. I would take everything between the rotors (to include the set of axle dampers if they're present).

Look at the lugs too and too! see if the ABS sensors are intact if the rear end has ABS. Sometimes you get lucky (like i did) and get a rear nice 8.8 for cheap.

I paid 125$ to get an 8.8 and have gears installed and put into my car.
Then I paid whatever a 3.73+bearings rebuild+ Tlok rebuild kit cost on my own. Then how ever much AMSoil for my diff costs |

mustangmike! is right they can get pricy depending where youn live. I got mine for $400 up here in NY which is a good price for one with 50k on it. Installation prices from shops vary as well.. Ive been doing all the work myself and its alot easier than it sounds. Taking your time is key
