Squeaking noise

For a while now... I've been hearing a squeaking noise when I'm steering at A very low speed, or just at idle when I try to move the steering wheel a little bit... More like an old door hinge squeaking/creaking noise... Does anybody have the same or similar problem like me? What could it be?

More than likely, a balljoint that is just beginning to fail. Have someone turn the wheel for you while you try to pinpoint the source of the noise.

Also you can raise that side of the car up and wiggle the wheel if there is noise. If the wheel wiggles theres your sign.

Is that an expensive thing to fix? Is a DIY possible?

$25 and rent a balljoint compressor (giant fork). Not hard.

I've gotta replace my ball joints some time this spring. I've read through the install guide for Steeda X2 ball joints on AM a few times and it looks like a pain in the ass but not overly difficult by any means. Don't be scared, just break out the Haynes manual and have at it

I would jump right at it if it would been something else about the car that doesn't involve any safety issue... I'm not too confident about this project... I don't want my front wheels popping out off the car on the freeway... Lol plus, I have my daughter with me at times...
