I have a 2004 3.9L. This has just happened recently but my car how one of my friend described it sounds like its dying. It had a rumble sound coming from the Headers. And she told me she can smell gas from the outside of the car. I will try to post a video tmrw when I drive but the car has never made this sound anymore. I might be wrong out the car sounds like that but it never has. I will post a video up when I drive tmrw. Im not sure whats really going on so Ill rather ask you guys for some help.

Thanks in advance.

Where can she smell gas at? I have no clue what your taking about but smelling gas could be due to the rubber gromet our tanks use that leaks...in fact i need to replace mine. Ill probably do it when i drop the tank for the new fuel pump.

She said she can smell it inside the car, and also to the right side of the engine.

I took a video but you cant hear the rumble in it. But I can smell gas coming from the right side of the engine, its smells as if its coming from the headers.

only thing i can think of is your header might have cracked due to the AC dripping on it. Check out your passenger side header and see if you can see cracks or anything

^ that. The AC compressor or something drips water right on to the header on the right. Can you hear any faint ticking noise?
