don't drop it past 1.5" and you won't have to worry about not being able to get it aligned correctly...that is if you don't have C&C plates...as for shocks/struts blowing out. That'll depend on how good they are now...my old v6 had cut springs for 2 years w/ no issues...and my GTs had them cut for around 8 months now.

also the insurance myth gets on my nerves lol...my GT costs me less a month for the same covereage then my v6...and now that i have a new v6 i'll be talking them down to less then what i'm paying now

I have less than 30K miles on my car so I'd imagine my shocks and struts are fine. How many coils did you cut for your drop?

well i do 1.25 coils off the front and 1 coil off the back...leave the isolators and drive it around for a bit to see if you like the drop...if you want it a tad lower you can pull isolators

2 wheel alignments usually run in the $40-50 range around here

keep the V6 until you want to buy something really fun like a cobra. the way i look at it is the 99-04 gt's are nice looking and sound great but are the slowest of the trans am, camaro, and 350z of those years so i wouldnt want to have that in the back of my head, but when you get a 03/04 cobra (ignoring the supercharger part since you can easily add that to a gt) you get a nice 6 speed, better interior and exterior (love the back bumper), and a motor that can already withstand a lot

i'll have to disagree with you on him not getting a GT if he can afford one...it's a nice upgrade in power over the v6, and from what i can tell you really don't know much about them.

oh and on your track time under your avatar...we don't need a full blown story about why your car went down the track slowly...just a time and mph will suffice

Hey man, what kind of price range, mileage, color, etc. are you looking for? I can help you search if you want for some good GT's around your area.

If you're in that price range, go for it. I'd also say within that price range that I wouldn't shy away from some 3v S197s as well!
