Considering selling my v6 for a v8..

Thinking about it realistically like I love my car but its missing so much I want.. and it'd be so much less cost effective to continue swapping things in/on examples..

8.8 rearend +t-lok
gt bumper
hoodscoop (already added this though)
black interior
manual
more hp/tq
are just some

cheap rearend or adding a tlok atleast 200
gt bumper+paint 100-300ish
a bolt on scoop 200
black interior pretty much impossible
manual 1400 cheapest..
more hp/tq varies..

dont think im a traitor or anything

just want everyones opinion

Nothing wrong with wanting a v8, everyone does.

Im going to buy a v8 someday, but not a new edge. Either a fox or an 11+. If you can afford it i would say go for it. v8s are a dime a dozen

Keep the 6 mod it and save up for the 2014 50th anniversary mustang, I'm betting they'll make 500 hp with irs stock. The 11' gt is a match for the M3, 14' may be an m3 killer.

I agree, GT is more gas and insurance? SO it's a bit more and visual wise you'll still want to give it more.

I think the 6 will keep you happy if you make the people who think v6 mustangs suck, impressed.

If you enjoy doing your own work then I say keep it.

If you buy a GT it's going to probably have 8 things that need to be replaced anyways plus you'll end up having to pay tax again.

I'm trying to find a way to swap to black interior myself.. maybe I'll be able to pull most of it from a wrecked vehicle for cheap. I'm slowly getting more and more black parts in my car and really just need to convert it.

insurance will be the same, and gas won't be much more, i don't know how to do a manual swap, and swapping in a black interior or painting it----i'd probably be unhappy with the quality of my work, i wont be able to afford a 2014 stang or 2011 for awhile

I'm thinking about doing the same thing, but I think dropping a v8 in my v6 would make me happier.

I say test drive a GT and see if you like the difference. PS if you buy a GT I will trade you rims I have the stock ones and would like yours for my mineral grey mustang haha

Me personally I will keep the V6 for a long time, I love my V6. When I am older like 30s I want to get a nice cobra but I still will keep the V6 for my son who I hopefully have

I still owe $1000 on it. I definitely do not have the money yet to do anything really, although I'd like too. Idk what to do yet, if I can get some sucker to fork over the right amount of cash for my sixer I'd take it and go get a GT.

Oh yes there is a lot of difference stock for stock. I used to think the same way until I drove a GT. They are pretty nice. I would like one but I already have a lot of money and time into my V6 and I don't want to start over and my car has an excellent body and base of mods.

I say just test drive one and look for one and just think about both sides. I don't know what you have as far as mods but keep that in mind you won't get a lot for them when you sell your car unless you can find a stupid teen

my mods are only

wheels and tires, 1500 probably swap these over
audio 2000 but i'm planning to swap all of this over
hoodscoop 200
small mods 200
grille delete 100
chin spoiler 100 (not installed yet debating whether to or not)
couple hundred just spent on small maintenance and things like that
I was about to do full exhaust but after really thinking about everything

I think this is like the point of no return money wise, and it just seems like it'd be smarter all around to upgrade to a v8 now.

see what you can find for cheap. Save the chin spoiler and you could put it on your GT also you could put the rims on your GT. And ya it is smart to decide what you really want before you spend anymore money. You really are not in too bad right now.

yeah I was thinking I just swap wheels and tires on the gt i pickup, swap audio over, could use the spoiler. But if I went full exhaust, tuner, i'd be in too deep imo
