Is this true?

Ok I remember a long time ago when 6stang99 had his lumpy cam in his car. he said that SSMS recommended that and he was planning on turbo-ing his car.

My question is how would that cam work with a turbo? It seems to me most turbo cams have a even duration and higher LSA. I was just thinking

Ok that is what I thought. The lumpy cam seems like it would work pretty decent for a supercharged car but not well for turbos. I might be crazy but I could have swore that 6stang99 said that is what ssms recommended when he said his plans and he had planned on a turbo. I wonder why they would? Or if I am just crazy?

i know that he wanted to turbo the car eventually if he had kept it, i dont recall him saying that the cam was recommended for a turbo, i could be wrong though.

hmm.... I could be wrong. I just figured I would ask, because it was bothering me. Maybe I was wrong and he didn't say it.

Ok so out of pure curiosity what would be the result of a turbo car with the lumpy cam?

I mean I would guess you would loose hp since the cam is not speced right but what overal? Im really just curious.

How are you going to LOSE hp, when your adding a turbo??

It would probably make power and then drop off.... it wouldn't be optimal. When you have boost nothing else really matters.

Ok. That is kinda crazy.

Well I ask because I have a cam that is very similar to the lumpy just different LSA and I have stumbled across a used TMA kit that is pretty cheap. I am just trying to get the money so I can buy it. It is not for sure but I was just curious if it would not run right, but I could deal with not being optimal.

So if i was planning to turbos in the future, would i want to buy a "turbo cam" before? or wait until after? How is the car going to perform on a "turbo cam" without the turbo?

NorCalWhtHrse, watch where you flash that thing, I can't wait to get my bumper. ESG, are you making a turbo kit that will full fill my constant day dreams of hearing that turbo whistle and walking all over stock ricers?

I guess what I mean, is will I get an increase in hp from a turbo cam before I get a turbo setup? I could do a cam right now, but a turbo is honestly probably more than 6 months out

...I realize that.

What I'm saying, is would it be better to do a lumpy cam for now till I go FI, and then switch cams? I could do a cam now, but don't know how far in the future a FI setup will be...

I have another car I'm trying to get daily drive-able right now too!
