Is this normal??
So I'm in the process of dropping the transmission. I go to remove the drive shaft only to find that it still is spinning freely. I double check to make sure the e-brake is on and it is. Long story short, the e-brake is only stopping the right rear wheel from spinning, not the left. Is this normal because of the open differential or do I have an issue here?
If it is an issue I guess that would explain why I found my car in the middle of the road one day after leaving it in my driveway and not in gear... |

It's normal for the differential to allow that but it's not normal for your brakes to allow that. E-brakes should be equally functional on both wheels. You'll want to investigate the brake that isn't stopping correctly.

Yeah that's what I had suspected. Looks like what is an already tedious job just became that much more so.
Seeing as I already drained the trans fluid and am mid process, is there a way to prevent the drive shaft from spinning? I would assume putting it in gear but I'm not sure if I could possibly damage something by applying excessive force to remove the bolts. |

I'd try to just jam your normal brakes on if possible(assuming that stops that side). Power seats + 2x4 + brake pedal = stopped.

looks like you need to replace one or both rear calipers.

Check the ebrake cables before u start replacin calipers. They might have stretched. Puttin the car in gear will help you get the job done.
