Circuit board in clear box?

First off the car is a 1996 v6 mustang and just as some background my door locks and passenger side window has been acting up. The locks keep trying to lock themselves randomly (sometimes trying to lock in sync sometimes not) even if the car is off for an extended period of time and the passenger side window would always roll down except for recently it would sometimes roll down and now it does not roll down at all but I can see it strain the battery when I try to roll it down. So to try to get to the bottom of these issue me and friend pulled the driver side door panel and saw multiple cut and spliced wires from the previous owner. As we worked our way down the wires trying to figure out why the wires had been cut in the first place we found that a wire to a relay behind the plastic cover by the hood release had been cut and spliced somewhere else (I'm thinking it may be going to power my stereo since I can turn on the radio without the keys even being in the car) and we also came across a circuit board in a clear case that had somehow gotten filled with water and was severely rusted and corroded. If you guys have any idea what is going on here any input is appreciated, specially if you can identify that circuit board in the clear case. Thanks in advance

Get us some pics if you can. That'll help a lot.

No problem, I planned on it, I'm just at work right now. I should have some up in a couple of hours.

There is no doubt about that, but the door lock and window things have got me. The stock wire is cut from driver side window switch and spliced into another wire and so on and so forth. I really have no clue why so much was cut and spliced, even under the hood I can see cut and spliced wires.... And the stereo wiring is terrible its self, for one I can just pull out my whole head unit and receiver and behind that reviles a rat's nest of bud connectors and twist caps. I'm starting to think a complete rewire may be in order. Are there wiring diagrams for the entire car (door locks, windows, etc.) in a Haynes manual?

That sounds to me like there might have been an aftermarket alarm in there at one point.

Like to tell if the door got locked/unlocked or possibly to unlock/lock the doors from a aftermarket remote for the alarm.

You could always try to pick up a ford OEM wiring diagram book for your car. I have one for my V6 that has saved me lots of trouble.
