If you're looking for best, I've heard great things about Steeda and MGW (I plan on picking up an MGW short throw shifter eventually). Although they run more than double what the shifter in that link you posted costs.

Everything is going to have some bad complaints. I know there was one guy here who literally slammed his car into 3rd so hard that his Steeda shift broke and he punched his radio (obviously breaking that as well). The 2 most common complaints I've heard with that one you link to is 1) Shifter loosens up, wiggles around, and feels sloppy and 2) The distance of the shifts isn't much shorter than stock.

A very sweet combo is having the Steeda shifter and adding the MGW adjustable handle.
When I added the adjustable handle, it made for a much more comfortable, smooth driving experience. Their web site has a video or two on how it works and how to adjust it. Nice. And... I almost forgot- It can be added to any ss to eliminate any vibration noises.

I've had the AM one, a Steeda Tri-Ax, a Hurst, and an MGW.
The AM was total shit. Sold it for $50 a week later. The Tri-Ax was nice, but noisy as hell (transmission tunnel noise), ripped it out and stuck in some DynaMat: problem solved. Sold the Tri-Ax a few months later because I wanted a Hurst. The Hurst rattled like hell, had about as much soundproofing as a glasspack, and shifted like a dead fish. No amount of DynaMat could fix it and despite torquing the bolts as tight as possible, it still rattled. Sold it the same week. The MGW has been in the car for 3 months so far. Absolutely no complaints! Buttery shifting (can be modified to be as notchy as you'd like), came with heaps of DynaMat to kill the tunnel noise, fully-adjustable, beautiful shift ball with it, just perfect. Mine's set at 6 out of 10(or 12, whatever) turns for a bit of notchiness but smooth enough to feel like driving an exotic. I say MGW without doubt. Tri-Ax is wonderful, just noisy; Hurst is worthless; Cheapo-Depot AM shifter might as well be your joke of a stock shifter. |

Yeah, my only complaint about the Tri-Ax is the noise, since you have to remove one of the insulators to install it. Performance is top notch. Avoid the cheaper shifters.
