A Few questions about proformance mods.Exhaust I'm thinking of getting duel catback with flowmaster 40s on. Would that be a noticeable change in horse power, and what is a guess on how much? Last thing is about nitrous, I know alot about Nitrous from reading but I don't under stand on how it is activated. Some say its always on others say it sprays after a certain rpm and movies have buttons which one is it? After it is activated how long does my car hold on to its HP boost before I get my old 190hp back? I also heard that nitrous is very expensive to re-fill is that true? How long does an average bottle last, my car is street only? |

For exhaust if that's all you do you may feel more pull and you'll get like 15hp converting from y to dual. For nos you have to choose wet or dry. I dont remember what wet does- i think it goes right into your gas line or into your block or something. For dry it sprays nos into your intake to mix with your oxygen and makes the bang from combustion alot bigger. You can set it up for a window rpm where it will only shoot during that window, and you set up a button so everytime you floor it your nos doesnt spray. So you hit the button and then between your set window it will spray. You can also have it so that it sprays only when you hit a button so you control the window. Your car only holds onto the boost as long as it's spraying, then itll go right back to the regular hp |

Then you switch gear and it does it all over again. The buttons are all in the movies. I suppose you could rig a button but why bother with one more thing to think about? I can't answer the other questions though :-)

Re: A Few questions about proformance mods.
get rid of your y-pipe (true duals, h-pipe, or x-pipe) and you will see around 15% gains for a street only car no nitrous it is illegal on the street, but if you want it get a arming switch a WOT switch and a window switch, the arming switch will make it to where if it isn't on nitrous never sprays, WOT switch makes it where it will only spray when armed and your at wide open throttle, window switch makes it where it will only spray when armed, your at wide open throttle, and your within you set rpm window. Just using a push button system your going to end up spraying at the wrong time and getting no performance gains or you going to detonate the engine and screw something up.

I didnt say when its happening. Just remember, we both know people that have flipped and rolled 3+ times an EVO. Just think what they would want to do to a 400hp v6.......
