2.25 piping to 2.5 piping Diff?

i have 2.25 piping all threw my exhaust. with a custom H pipe 2 HF cats and 2 deleted cats. going into spintech 9000 series side exhaust with 3in tips. would going 2.5 piping from my bbk shortie headers make any difference in sound or anything?

well if you think about it maybe 3" piping all the way through would make a diference but 2.5 is only 1/8th of an inch wider on either side of the pipe so its not going to make much of a difference if any at all but should improve flow overall through the system...

You will improve flow but loose your ass on low end torque. Exceptions are blowers, larger internals and large HP applications in general. 2.25" pipe with free flow cats, dual exhaust and aftermarket mufflers is sufficient.
But then people do run 2.5" full exhaust systems on the v6 all the time with no problem dealing with the low end power loss.
I couldn't stand it, drove me crazy. I waited two weeks and ran 2.25" mid pipe for most of the total length and then custom welded 2.5" pipe 10 inches before feeding into the mufflers. Still wasn't satisfied until I installed the VAP intake spacer. I'm now very happy with acceleration through 1st-3rd gears.

understand that you have a single port v6....the way your car took the tq loss compared to his tq loss would be way different...

i have side exhaust already but anyways about exhaust size. i was in the okc last weekend for high school state basketball and ran across a 94 302 boss procharger! yellow with black soft top, i had all forigned guts, new tranny and all. he said it had about 600 horse. it sure sounded like it..he had a miled cam but he said his exhaust was 4" into cherry bomb dumps..it was a sweet amazing fast car but with ugly color
