installed my new stuff

installed my rims, tires, mach 1 chin spoiler and cut springs last night. very pleased with the results. i didnt end up cutting the rear springs because we ran into a little problem trying to take the bolt holding the rear axel to the rear control arm off. the bushing inside it was spinning and wouldnt let the nut loosen. anyways im glad we didnt cut the rears because i think it looks good as is. any lower i think would look goofy. also im glad we ended up cutting the fronts because one of the springs was broken on the bottom so we ended up having to cut more off anyway so we essentially eliminated a broken spring by cutting it more lol. i dont have a good picture yet because it was too dark in the garage when we finished it and it was dirty anyways. ill get pics up asap let me know what you think.

again thanks 6er for the info.

and go somewhere you can trust ... place i went ended up charging 200+ dollars for some stuff they had to put in.

When i went to get my dad's car done, almost 600$
Took it to the ford repair shop ... 60$ ....

what do you think is the maximum amount of springs to cut on some stockers so that you can still get your car properly aligned without CC Plates?

1.25 is safe...it can give you a slight negative camber, but alignment shops can use camber bolts to fix it...anthing cut after that will most likely need C&C plates

Sorry its been shitty out all day and haven't gotten any good pics. Will do asap tomorrow. Yea ik I have to get an aallignment which will be easy because I work at a tire place. And the chin spoiler was a little bent but I left it inside and let it warm up a bit so it was more flexable when it came time to install

ok thanks... and is that 1.25 coils cut with the isos removed?

and how many inches do you think that 1.25 coils equals?

honestly first time after cutting run ISOs to see how low it gets...if you want it lower after a few weeks take them out...the ride will get a tad bit bumpy with them out, but you get used to it. and i'd say on both my GT and v6 i got a 1.5" drop

yea with the isos it doesnt seem like much of a ride quality difference between cut and stock but still has a good enough and noticable drop which is what i was shooting for. can definately say that for a cheap way to lower, cut your springs. this is only temporary until summer when i can afford to buy actual lowering springs and some CC plates lol.

I get some new springs asap, if one of your springs was broken before, now that you've cut them your putting more stress on each coil and making each coil flex more since there's less of them, I'd think it's only a matter of time before it breaks again. I'm guessing the broken spring was rust related since your from NY.
