Wrecked my new 2000 Mustang after 1 week buying it.. PICS Need Advicve

Just bought my Mustang 1 week ago and a girl dash out of a parking lot non stop and I T-boned her. I was going close to 30mph.. Accident her fault and she got a reckless driving ticking among a few others. i will be suing her in court.

She didnt have insurance and neither did I. Thankfully the good people @ Buy Here pay here Lot will help me fix it and add it on to my loan.

But they are offering to fix it and add it to my loan there but I have to put like 1k down or so.

I'm thinking about fixing it myself so to driveable legal state. And fix more stuff as time goes on..

Parts is cheap here such as fender hood headlights for like $200 form junkyard. Found airbags for like $375

The side frame where the hood latch on the side down on is bent a little

Her car:

Sell it, It will be a money pit. Part it out and buy a new one. I would be willing to bet that the whole front end is all out of wack and straightening will cost you a ton.

Car it a total loss. Mine had less damage and were wrecked two years ago. I was 2% short of totaling it. Your car is worth less than mine was two years ago withway more damage. I hate to say it, but you're fucked.

Bite that pillow. They is going in dry!!

Get money out of her, ride her hard, then part it out. That kind of damage can be fixed but won't bring the car back 100%. You'll have problems down the road that you won't see at first.

A buddy of mine had his car slid out from under him when he was driving to work when we had freezing rain. and he hit both the from and rear of the car. the body shop worked with him and he had a little bit less frame damage than you. the rear was just the bumper cover that was messed up and that is all in the rear. the from bumper hood headlights driver side fender and front side skirts were mess up and need to be replaced and the core was replaced also the radiator needed to be replaced. but the frame was alot straighter than yours. His was pushed to the left about 1 inch. the shop straightened it, got all new parts accept the hood and lights. he ended up paying what he bought the car for back in 06 or 08. he still has it and is having gremlin issues still. his car had the gt rear bumper and duel exhaust on a 6er and paid 6500 for it. he dropped another almost 7 to get it fixed. thats with paint too. If you have the time... the money and another car. do one of two things.

1. have a shop look at it how bad the car is really, if the car can be saved take it home and start getting parts. do all the body work you can... with the correct tools. also get everything you need and everything you think you will need if you are unsure. if you dont need it then sell it later.

2. get far far away from it. the car is bent to hell and it will take a hail mary that the car isnt to far gone. part that thing out and dont let the loan office know. if they do find out then your credit will be in the can, because that will be on you record showing that you destroyed a car that was still being paid for.

1st have it looked at by a body shop. see what the damage is and how bad.

I can save you a lot of time and trouble. I have been in the body repair business for 30 years and I am sorry to say that your car is not worth repairing. Could it be repaired? yes you would be surprised what you can fix but it does not have the value to spend that much time and money on it. The buy here pay here lot wants to fix it and add it to the balance of your payments so that you keep it and don't dump it on them. Trust me it's not your best interest they are thinking about. Good luck.

Did you not get a ticket for having no proof of insurance.
You cannot get mad a someone for hitting you when neither of you had insurance in the first place.

I've parted out about 13 94-98 mustangs and usually make about $2-2500 on each car. I've never parted a 99-04 but I'm guessing you could make about the same amount. However with the airbags gone and the front end shit fucked I'm guessing youll make about $1,200-1,500 + whatever aftermarket parts you have.

Wow !!! That sucks.. Well the first thing i would do is get all the crushed sheet metal off the car. Take it to a frame shop and have it checked, they might be able to pull it for you so when your putting your new parts on it will line up, fender gaps and hood. Also please be aware mustangs are known for cracking the dash when the airbags explode.. When I worked at few body shops I have seen them total them out due to the dash being cracked.. You def are going to need a core support maybe some inner fender well work .. Make sure get these things checked . Please dont half ass it.. Your safety and others around you are very important .. Good luck to my friend..
