DDM Tuning

Ordered a slim ballast HID kit about 10 days ago and just got an email saying that the kit is on backorder. Is DDM usually this slow or is it just my luck?

depends on how many people are ordering...i've bought kits that processed that day and were delivered within 3 days. then again i've bought kits and they were on backorder....it happens, but it's not a big deal

Bought a slim balast kit for my buddy on Friday. Got here today. So it must be the bulbs causing a back order because I ordered him 9006's.

What are you guys' opinions on these in the stock headlight housings? I've seen some people say they don't like the idea of putting them in a stock housing. And what are the alternatives?

just put them in there....yes our stock housings cause the light to scatter a bit, but who cares lol...

as for alternatives...you can retro fit projectors into your factory housings, but it's pricey

10 days and then they tell you they're backordered? That's pretty horrible service IMO.

I'd cancel them, order a set off of eBay for cheaper and have them at your door within 3 days.

DDM sells higher quality HID kits for the same (and often lower) price as the shitty eBay kits. It's not like OP is going to die without HIDs. I've been running simple halogen bulbs (no silverstar bs) since I bought my car and haven't had any real issues.

honestly waiting is a pain in the ass. but if you guys can vouch for ddm and their quality then I guess its worth the wait. My buddy ordered some HIDs off of ebay, and those went out real quick

Yes, they are worth it 100%. I use to have a Ebay HID kit... Know what happened? Both ballasts ended up overheating (they were mounted in my bumper so no engine heat was hitting them) crossing some wires in there somehow. Drew a ton of power from my alternator and made my car shutoff at random points. Including while driving. Didn't know that was the cause at the time then about 3-5 days after I thought I solved that issue both ballasts pretty much blew up, headlights both shut off simultaneously, leaving me in the dark on a back road with no street lights. Light would not come back at all, messed with them for about 30 minutes and still nothing. Had to meander my way home to put my stock bulbs back in. Got the DDM kit because 6er recommended them to me (thanks again bro) and haven't had a single issue.

Oh and figured I would mention this, the Ebay HID kit was only about 6-7 months old before it blew. So yea.....
