I've been too lazy to do this, although my pedal sits down a good bit below my brake.

Don't be lazy!

It feels great being able to heel & toe and feather it without putting your foot to the floor. It has range compared to a small one.

I used 2 couplers, smallest I could find, tightened them first then squeezed them over the nylon spacer one by one then gave each screw one good tighten. Tested it's strength and that was it. It was just a PITA to get those couplers tightened and that nylon cut. If you have a vice grip (I had a table vice) cut it with a hack saw, then turn it a bit and cut against that same cut as to make it wider. Makes it easier to put on.

I didn't take all the slack out and I my switch it to a shorter spacer. I got a 1/2inch OD and a 1/4inch id spacer from sears. with two 3/8-5/8 hose clamps. Took me longer to cut the spacer than to install this. Man was it a bitch to get under the steering column.
