Now I may come across stupid when I post the link but I was bored and was on CL I don't know why but I was and I cam across this lol

Mustang Motor and Parts

Sure id need a new rear end
Engine mounts new comp ecu and other harnesses and a lot of otheer stuff but who's to say I can buy it and leave it on the engine lift and SLOWLYa work on it

My big question(s) is. Is it a some what good idea and just work on it bit by bit and will my tranny bolt up and....hold? And what could I do if not

Auto or stick? You'll need a different bellhousing either way.

The WC T5's have a low rating at 325TQ

The 4R70W Auto went into F150's as well as the 'Stang, but they had stronger gear sets. My F150 is rated at 350TQ and it holds so.........

Not familiar with a swap like that. The 302 was carried into the SN95 platform for a couple years before Ford switched over to the 4.6 Mod motor. But you will need everything you already said:
  • Motor mounts
  • Heavier rear axle. I can't see the 7.5 holding up very long.
  • Computer/ECU
  • Electrical harnesses
  • Bulk up the T5 in your car. If that 302 is pushing 345HP the torque will be at least 20 more at 365 if not more.
  • etc.

Although for that price you could go to a salvage yard and pull a 4.6 out of a trashed GT and build that up into a decent engine. That would be an easier swap.

Buy a GT and put your fendors and body parts on it .... much easier !

lol and i do believe you need a new K member too

and remember this: a T5 and a WC T5 are the same tranny. Its just the internals are different. but im sure T5's were put in plenty of other things too, but you dont know the difference in the internals of those other vehicles.

a 4r70w in a V6 mustang may have comepletely different and weaker internals than a f150 with 300+ TQ

Easier because the GT and Sixer are basically the same car and are built right next to each other on the same assembly line. Plus this has been done thousands of times before with a ton more info out there. Have guys dropped 302's and 351's from vintage Mustangs into our year cars? Yep. However it's more common to do the GT swap route. You might get lucky and find a 5.4 Cobra rotting in a cornfield somewhere. That's get you booking.

Yep. The T5 and WC T5's are essentially the same, it's just that the WC versions are newer and have sturdier parts inside and can hold better.

As for the 4R70W I guess i was a bit confusing with my first statement

I was saying the F150 version IS stronger. The engineers did do their homework on that one.

My buddy bro did a built 302 into his new edge..... He has said several times that it would have been way smarter for a 4.6 or 4v 4.6 swap

I thought the f150 had the 4r75w? Maybe i'm wromg...but I do know these 4r70w trans will hold up to 450, I looked into it before. You can put a trickflow top end kit on the 4.6 and have probably a 400 hp engine. But instead of the top end kit I'd just do FI of some sort to about 400 rwhp, since that's about what the 4.6 is good for. I just say that because tht's what I'm doing except I WANT a 5 or 6 speed thatll hold up. It's expensive though, for a god tranny

the 302 will mate to the tranny nicely.

Like I want a v8 but I don't know if I'm "ready"....I mean like ready as in to go out and buy a new er car again I just whent from my 97 sixer to this 00 I'm driving and I bought it roughly 4 months ago mabey 3

Id figured some what, that it would be easier and by easier I meany easier on $$$ to buy a creat engine or a block and just build on it bit by bit but we all know engine swaping isn't always easy and I didn't mean psyhically easier

Honestly, keep your six as a nice daily driver, find a gt fox with bad motor for cheap, put that motor in it for a weekender and/or project.
