gaskets


so, im installing a cam in a few weeks... as soon as it arrives.... anyone know what gaskets i need? i have a 99 3.8... im throwing this out to all you mustang lovers, not just the 3.8 group

i know youll have to get a timing cover gasket but im not sure if you would need to get a water pump gasket...im pretty sure but not 100% and youll need intake gaskets

well, from what i have read up on.... everything is comming off, from the intakes down to the cylinder heads for valvespring replacements. and thanks for the info.

everything is comming off down to the cylinder heads... not the heads themselves.. but you know that... sorry if i wasnt clear when i wrote that

ya i was confused...but even at that all you would really need is the water pump timing cover and the intake manifold gaskets

...thought there was a lot more too it.... i know when i changed a head gasket on my friends eclipse i out on soooo many gaskets that i had to take off to replace the head gasket... i figured that the mustang would be the same way... tons of gaskets....

not quite. pull the timing cover and waterpump,intake and valve covers.
dont forget the bolt behind the oil pump on the timing cover its not easily seen
