Both right side rims bent and cracked (NEED ADVICE!)

So Michigan roads suck. I hit a pothole, or possibly 2 potholes that caused damage to both my right side rims. They are both bent in and cracked, however, the tires are still holding air. I have 17" (i think, possibly 18") bullit rims. I called the county, since it was on a county road that it happened, and they said the chances of them fixing it are slim to none, basically they have 30 days to fix a pothole after being notified, if they dont, than you can file a claim. But if the specific pothole hasnt been complained about, or it hasnt been 30 days since the last complaint, the city is not liable for it. Which is bullshit. Anyway, I guess this could be a semi good thing? Do you guys think it would be possible to run it through insurance through a tire/rim place (my cousin works at one) and have them charge it to my insurance as needing all new rims and just get FR500's? I know i'll have to pay the deductable, but i pay $375 a month for my insurance, i deserve it. (btw, my insurance goes down to $216 in june, so dont feel TOO bad for me haha)

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE!

I'll post pic's if needed.

Thanks,
Jake.

I think the best way to get something like wheels and tires fixed because of road dammage is to get a police report on the spot where it happend just like a wreck.
I bet if the mayors rims got dammaged like that the city would pay for it. Tell the city that.
Try calling your agent, see what they have to say.

You should be able to have them repaired for around $100 a rim at the absolute most.

If you're already paying that much for insurance I definitely wouldn't file another claim on it. You're likely to pay about just as much as you would for replacement wheels in the deductible and you'll really pay for it when your insurance goes up more.

Suck it up, buy a couple new rims and be done with it. This is why you swerve pot holes.

Why are you paying that much for insurance anyways? That's just insane.

The reason i pay $375 right now is because there was alot of confusion when i added the mustang to my insurance policy in november. Basically accidental missed payments (told them to take it directly out of my checking account and they didnt) and now they're making me make up the money before the policy ends. That's why it goes down to $216 in june, not because of insane tickets or anything. Also, I'm 20 years old and live in Michigan, that has a lot to do with the insurance prices.

I would talk to your insurance agent and see if the city should be responsible for the damages or if you're just going to have to file a claim to get the 2 damaged wheels replaced. Are the tires damaged at all?

Not too bad? I would pay less than that for an 04 Termi (I'm 20 with a $10k car totaled on my record)
