O2 Sensor question/Help

So i got the BBK Chrome long tube headers with the O/R Xpipe, No cats. The front O2 sensor needs an extention to reach the connectors on the engine, BUT BBK sent out the wrong ones. I got a call from BBK yesterday, and thier vendor sent them the wrong ones for our 3.7l and no ETA when it will come in, I believe they have to fab something up. So my questions are, what will it hurt not running front O2 sensors? How long will it take to hurt it on a NEW engine with less then 10k on it?

All answers apprciated.

Same thing happened to me, all that is going to happen is that your engine is going to run rich, really rich in my case. I called and bitched out bbk and they sent me the right ones two days later. But yes its not going to hurt anything just going to waste a lot of gas.

How did you get the right ones? I talked to the Customer Service Manager(Ashley) and she said their vendor sent them the wrong one and dont have the right ones for our cars, she offered me $50 back and a way to rig the extensions i have with the stock O2 sensor.... You may wanna call back and talk to them b/c they told me they dont have the right ones for our cars bro.

I'll let you know ASAP because they said they found the part and shipped in two day air, if it's not the right one I'm gonna raise hell cause this is ridiculous.

Who are you tellin bro, she said If you email me you order/payment confirmation i can send you a $50 check because we dont have the right extensions for the 3.7l and if you call me back on the 21st i will have to Tech dept walk you thruogh how to use the stock Sensor with what you have, something along the lines of Splicing/adding wires. I was hot when she told me this.

Running a vehicle when it has no idea what the A/F ratio is isn't the best of ideas. Under normal conditions you should be fine but if something else like your MAF screws up, good luck.

It's only a few wires. Take 10 minutes under your car, extend the wires and call it a day. You could have been done in the time it took you to even call them.

Cut all the wires to the O2 sensors then solder or use butt connectors to splice in other lengths of wire to extend them to the necessary length. If you do a good job it'll be better than using an extension.

It should be just like extending any other piece of wire. If you wanted to get fancy you could go buy the right connectors and make your own extensions but I don't imagine those are easy to find nor cheap in small quantities.

I have spliced a few wires before, for my headlights, but do you need special wires or can you just use whatever?

Just make sure it's the right size wire or larger. If the splice is in a place where it'll get really hot then you'll want to either wrap it in something like a high temp electrical tape, heat shrink or another heat-resistant material.

If they sent you the wrong ones then they sent you the wire you need at least. Just cut the connectors off that and use it as a splice in extension.

Good find but sadly those are not what I need but I can try and splice the wrongs one into the old ones and just reuse the stock connector.

Not really sure what u need/have but when i got mine i had to use a knife and cut of the little tab sticking up at the of the extender so it would plug in. Doesnt sound like you have the same problem though.

Thats fix wont help us. the extensions they sent have the same size heads as the stock one so one wont slide into the other, they are just the wrong ones. From what BBK said is they DONT even have the RIGHT oness but offered some bullshit ass rig to fix it.
