I made the switch the first winter I was driving, it was 10 below in Ohio at the time and I was changing my oil every two weeks. I finally said it to cold for me to this so often, so I switched to Royal Purple, saved money, and regretted not switching sooner, luckily I had only been driving for a few months at that point. |

I use Supertech Full Synthetic from Walmart for $20 a jug. And still change it every 3-4 months or 3-4k miles. I don't think you should leave any oil in for more than 5k or 6months. It just get's cruddy and still gets acid buil up in it. Especially if its mostly a city driven car. My car gets 2 oil changes a year and only drives maybe 4-5k for about 8 months a year.
I don't see what the big deal is with changing oil either when it takes what 15 min?

Not even 6 bucks, the 5qts of Mobil 1 fully synthetic at wal mart down here is $24.95. I just wish they sold Motorcraft filters...
