I made the switch the first winter I was driving, it was 10 below in Ohio at the time and I was changing my oil every two weeks. I finally said it to cold for me to this so often, so I switched to Royal Purple, saved money, and regretted not switching sooner, luckily I had only been driving for a few months at that point.

Why run Royal Purple when you basically get the same performance out of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic? And a 5 quart jug from Wallyworld is only $24-26...

I use Supertech Full Synthetic from Walmart for $20 a jug. And still change it every 3-4 months or 3-4k miles. I don't think you should leave any oil in for more than 5k or 6months. It just get's cruddy and still gets acid buil up in it. Especially if its mostly a city driven car. My car gets 2 oil changes a year and only drives maybe 4-5k for about 8 months a year.

I don't see what the big deal is with changing oil either when it takes what 15 min?

Yeah I find it theraputeic. But spend the extra 6 bucks man. Mobil 1 is good shit

At advanced it is 33 bucks for 5 quarts and a mobil 1 filter... About same price

I always get 5 quarts of Mobil 1 and a Motorcraft filter at Wal-Mart for like $29. It's sad that it's cheaper to take your car to a mechanic for an oil change. But I don't trust most of those fuckers with my car anymore

Yeah it's cheaper to get it done but it's deinately not going to be done with Mobil 1 for cheaper than that price. They will give you the cheapest shit they have unless you ask for synthetic. Even then they will normally use a synthetic blend. Taking 20 minutes to change your own oil is well worth it IMO. PLus when I do my own I like to let the passenger side down with the oil plug out so I get every last drop of old oil out that I can!
