windstar/heads question

Ok so I've been saving up laltey for a windstar intake and a tuner, so I figured why not put my goal at 1k savings sence u figure the kit on vap auto is like 415 or somthing and the sct tuner from americanmuscle is mid 300.00s (I think)

So my question is sence I'm going to take the stock upper off and replace it with the windstar shuold I just go one step furthur and take my cyl heads off and get them ported at a machine shop
(Am I using the correct termenology?)
The shop tht will be doing my exhaust also does machine work and says he can port/machine my heads and everything if the $ is right should I do it and hell give him the lower intake to port

What gains can I get from tht...like roughly wat number increase

How much would the machine shop be charging you? I would talk to ESG he probably has the best price out of anyone.

well .... if you put it that way .... you might as well go with larger valves, Full P&P, P&P the stocker might be better in the end (maybe im not sure), then you might as well just cam it.

Well the way I see it is either have them do there work on my stock heads or buy the fully ported heads from ssm then cam it cuz we all know tht stage 3 heads will complement the cam nicely with more air....

But how much can he do to the stock heads I'm assuming u can't increase the valvue size on the stock heads?

How much can u gain from ported stock heads?

No matter what you do to your heads your going to start with a pair of stockers.

Im not sure on the exact gains

you could go all out with some 1.94/1.56 valves but those are quite expensive, $450 for just the valves

what kind of numbers are we talking here?

I'd really like to see someone with numbers on the windstar and the port job, as well as a comparable price tag.

instead of buying the tuner off american muscle, u should wait till one pops up on ebay or craigslist to save money for your other mods, picked up my tuner for 150
