How to cut the rear springs?

I've already done the 2 front springs and i cut 1.25 coils off. The rears are being difficult, first of all, I don't think I've seen a how-to on cutting the rear springs, but it seemed simple. I tried to disconnect the control arm from the axle and drop the control arm down slowly with a jack, but i could not get that screw out, it was like stuck in there, and theres not really any way to beat it with a hammer, i have a feeling thats not the right screw to remove to get the control arm down or something, idk. so how do i remove the rear spring? also.. the spring on the back looks different and im gonna assume i gotta cut from the top, do i just cut one coil off the back like where the end of the coil is cut there on the coil below? it looks like on the rear the springs are alot closer towards the top and that cutting just 1 coil wouldnt really do a whole lot. correct me if im wrong, and sorry its kinda hard to explain some of this shit in words. haha.

Thanks,
Jake.

tip.

Unbolt the shock where it attaches to the axle (both sides). Then use the jack and prop the opposite side up and it will shift the axle. Then simply remove and repeat.

1 coil off is correct.

Just take off the shock and you should be able to get to the spring. was going to cut my springs today but the sawzall didnt have any blades that could cut the spring, they call just kinda scratched it up. Tomorrow im going to get ahold of a grinder =]

So jack up one side, than put another jack under the axel on same side, remove shock bolts on both sides of car, and let the jack under the axel down?

you can also just put a jack under the rear, remove both lower shock bolts, let the jack down allowing the rear to just hand. From the side you are working on, push down on the axle and pull the spring out.

No, you unbolt both shock bolts and only jack up one side and let the other shift down then remove the spring on the one that shifted down.

2 min drawing FTW!!!
