V6 Fog light people

well I've been leaning towards getting some more and more lately. Well I remember seeing on a website (can't remember what website) but they were selling the wiring harness kit, for like 100 some bucks.

My question is, where did you get yours and for how much.

$25 - Pepboys.

Mounted to the lower front frame. These are the older ones. I have clear ones now.

I made my own for a few dollars instead.

@6er: Lucky

I'm just going to wire mine (if possible) to the head lights so they run whenever head lights are on.

Why would you want them off with your highbeams? When I have my highs on I want as much light as possible everywhere.

there's a reason they turn off from the factory when your highbeams kick on

What reason is that other than it's not 50 state legal? Just saying that there IS a reason doesn't cut it.

I know in other countries where there aren't such laws vehicles run with highs and fogs from the factory. It's a common mod to make them stay on with the highs in vehicles that make them cut off in the US.

question, dose that come with the fuse and buttons and such? Cause that is a lower price than i've seen around here.

and for those who made your own, Is there a write up around here with what to use and such?

It comes with the fuse, relay and everything except for the switch. Look around, they're ~15$ used or $25ish new.

I haven't seen a write up around but maybe someone else knows of one. In reality it's one automotive relay, two 880-bulb connectors, a fuse holder and a few lengths of wire.

cool, I llok around then. I don't know why but I just don't feel like getting a aftermarket switch. I feel like having the real deal lol.

EDIT: LMR has the switch for 34 bucks. Way to expensive for a switch. Time to find a used one.

Yeah, I agree. I got my OEM switch for $12 shipped and our cars already have the plug in in the dash for it. You could plug in the switch right now and the illumination and dimming would already work on it.

Aftermarket switches just look bad.

Just make sure you get the 01-04 switch, not the 99-00 switch.

all i know is my HIDs are bright enough w/o adding fogs for highbeams...hell no need to set it up to work on highbeams since most people run single beam HIDs

The pictures clearly show it so I'd assume so. Not many places sell them without.

And yes, I got my switch from eBay.

run power to the headlights power wire and ground the fogs to the frame or even the headlights ground (which is right on top of the headlight housings)...

then you can get some harness ends to splice in or just use crimp ends (female crimp ends) to slide on the fog bulbs (this'll work with HIDs too..it did on mine)
