If you're barely making enough money for gas, then I would not be spending it on mods. What if something goes wrong? You need money to live. I'm working full time right now and bringing in a good monthly income compared to what goes out. I'm saving as well as cleaning up the car. I have a plan on what I want but that I won't pull the trigger on until I have a steady reliable career after college.

If I were you, at 16, I would have bought a cheap 94-98 GT and just threw on new mufflers, tips, headlights, splitter and springs. That would be one cool car, even if it's slow, it's fun to have.

I was driving around town and this dude with a 3 youngs girls scrambled around the back of his Excursion, he heard my exhaust and he had a loud diesel side exhaust POS.. He kept trying to show off by revving and looking in his rear view and gunning it at every light. Then we went into two lanes and he took off at like 80 and passed everyone. I figured I had no chance at keeping up with him so I just stayed back. If you accept your car is slow and just have fun with it, it's not so bad to not need to go all out and mod it.
