^ well you know i'm just getting my feet wet here wanna go easy to start. I know I saw the most in a blow thru set up on my 90mm lightning mAF was 375hp so maybe somewhere down the road i'll upgrade and move up. Plenty of guys on youtube pushing 13-14lbs on a stock motor. I'm just not that brave! Well not yet atleast! The TMA site says justin from VMP took a stock 3.8 and pushed it to 450 with 17psi and race gas. I think thats leaning on the motor a little hard. If i can work up to 9-10 on the street and have some longevity then great, I'd go 12 at the track on short runs. I plan to shift around 5600. One question though? I noticed how quick you can row thru the gears on these turbos. Should I sell my 4.10's and go with say 3.55 or swap to the 8.8. dont particularly care about breakn crap and I still have to buy the Tlok so I'm not sure where the breakn point is on the 7.5 but i'd rather not find it after spending 500 on it. plus i'd prefer to keep some hint of gas mileage!

turbine housing a.r .63
cold side; 4" inlet/2.5" outlet
hot side; standard t3 inlet/3" T31 oulet

I used the wrong number the comp. side is what everbody refers to when stating size. So I guess its a 61mm, I think according to the turbo bible.

Oh and Kyle I arleady bought it so, umm.. I hope this works. Oh and it looks like everbody on tma is 10-12lbs of boost. But I'll stay at 7 till i can see iats, egts, and a nice afr. If its looks good and i'm confident i'm not gonna blow the snot out of it i'll up it. I was planning on a 9psi race tune for when i get the wild hair up my ass to go to the track. But even that would be done on 105 torco fuel mix.
That turbo would be considered a 56Trim. Which is a little big for only 300rwhp. A 4.2l engine should spool it decent, but like I said, your far from it's effiency range with a 4.2l making only 300rwhp. I'd stay with a stock 3.8l if 300-400 is the goal.(why spend the extra money when you dont have to??)

If you'd of posted before you bought this turbo, I would have suggested a pte 5857. Just got done building a kit a few weeks ago using this exact turbo, the spool and tq is incredible.

btw...you auto or manuel?

JT, I'm rocking the T5, also i had already bought the kb silvos and the 4.2 crank before i ever thought about boosting, i have 218k miles on her right now, and since i moved my wife back for deployment my car hasnt been driven or even started in over a year so thats why i'm rebuilding it. I already have new top and bottom gaskets as well with king si series cam, main and rod bearings. I guess i can always go ahead and buy the forged pistons and rods and shoot for over 400 but i'll need to upgrade from the 39lb'rs and 90mm lmaf though right? Thanks again and If you could explain to me how you find the trim that'd be awesome. You learn something need everyday.

edit: heres a better question JT. What would you do with my setup, as far as lmaf and 39lb'rs. Would it be okay for me to Go ahead buy, the forged rods and pistons, and later on upgrade to a BA2800 and 60lb'rs and then up the boost. And what should i be shooting for with a forged 4.2 with say 14-15lbs of boost.

We'll see. I have a few more things such as oil and water coolant lines a couple of fittings and such. Plus I'll look around and get prices on this extra stuff. You'd have to wait till i get home but if i cant use them i'll let you have them on the cheap, since you asked.

4.2 + 15lbs should be shooting for no less than 500rwhp. Of course its going to take a decent fuel system to make that think 60s and twin pumps. What kind of turbo did you get a garrett gt35?
