you might actually need to rotate the crank 180 degrees more.

you might can get the oil pump turned to the proper position, idk. But it maybe a shot in the dark-Trial and error phase. The synch gears are slanted: \\ Not up and down: ||
so when you drop it in place, the center piece you see will have to slightly spin to set the gear all the way down. Now remember, that piece should be set to the center of the gap in TDC, if I remember correctly that is. So you will have to off set the center piece so that when it turn while inserting, it will line up when finished seating. Now if your doing all that correctly and its still not lining up and going in, chances are, its hitting the oil pump and not inserting itself there. That maybe why its not going in. It shouldnt take to much effort to get it to slide in, Replacing a new one, might have some different wear pattern and may cause some friction. But I doubt its that much. When I put my stock one back in, things lined up nicely, just a small amount of push and wiggling to get it to fall into place. |

It should just go back down in with a little shaking and turning. Then for finding TDC get a wire brush and brush your crank balancer to find it, that's what I did. Then just rotate it til the piston blows your finger out of the spark plug hole. Then line up the mark with the pointer. As far as it not turning over, idk...I think the cam sensor controls fuel. It should still turn over as far as I know.
