rim dilema

Ok i am in the process of finding some rims for my 99 Stang and was jw what people thought looked the best. Now the only problem is my dad wont let me go as big as 17 or 18 inch, which is what i want. So what do you think about 15 inch racing rims. Not the ricey lil ones but the drag racing looking ones. Any opinions are welcome.

like fats and skinnies? some weld draglights would be nice in a 15x6 or so up front and a 15x10 rear with a big backspacing (dangerous on road though). personally, stock v6 mustang wheels would be much more streetable than a racing wheel- especially on a v6 where fats and skinnies will cut about a tenth in the quarter tops and would require a built rear end to be useful.

i would recommend stock mustang gt wheels that are 17" or some junkyard v6 wheels for your car. i have bullitt wheels on my car and the 12" wide tire out back is streetable and hooks great at the track.

do you need new tires or wheels too?

My stock wheels were 15". 15x7 actually. The tire was a 205/60/15. What is your dad's reasoning to not let you get a 17"wheel?

oh, didnt realize that our years had different stock size rims.

as far as what 15's are out there, you can check ebay to get an idea.

Yes, 01-05 "5 star" wheels are 16x7.5"

I am not sure if my stock wheels were 15x7" or 15x7.5"

Either way, I saw a 99-04 V6 on the highway the other day from behind, and the way the wheels tuck into the fenders just makes the car look like it begs for an ass beating. Nothing like a 12" fat tire to hook and intimidate

yeah mine are the ones that look the ones here : http://shop.wheelx.com/ford-mustang-...y03375u10.html

anyway, yeah i agree about the wheels - i do want to get the wider wheels (not sure if 9 or 10.5 in the back though.. i was always set on 10.5 but im ondering if i should stick with 9's so i can rotate etc.)

Yeah, I just have cheap high performance Sumitomos so if they last a year, I lose nothing. At $70 a piece for front tires and $110 a piece rear, it doesnt matter if I rotate or not.

true, but also, ive noticed not that many companies make that tire size (unless i just didnt look in the right place).
plus, since im in NY, we get snow (and obvioulsy rain) so that wide rim with a performance tire would be shitty in bad weather, you know what i mean?
