lol yeah 1st gear is useless riding around town. but when i had my 4.10's and stuff installed i loved it. all my buddies keep wondering why i keep a v6 lol but im faster than they are.. i just need a new exhaust setup. mine sounds like shit atm.

but anyways 4.10's are amazing unless you go turbo/SC. gears are way too short for that

Yeah the gears are really short. One of my buddies rode with me for the first time a few months ago and was surprised I could cruise in 3rd at like 24mph and 4th at 33mph.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before but other than the size, what is the difference between a 7.5 with 4.10 and an 8.8 with 4.10? Is a swap really that necessary for optimal performance?

1.3" No, the swap isn't necessary. The 8.8" rear weighs 100lbs more than the 7.5" rear. It can handle more power stock vs stock, but a built 7.5" can handle a decent amount of power.

Hell no, 8.8 isn't 100lbs difference in any way... 45maybe with the dampener weight still attached.

So kyle would you recommend a built 7.5 or an 8.8 for those of us that are looking into gears?

i think 3.73's would be better for a single port 4.10s would make your gears very short. youd rip through 3 gears before you even got to 60

yeah but for a single port it doesnt rev as high so you shift at around 4.5-5k. so his gears would be mega short with 4.10s lol

Looked up the sales figures for 3.73 vs 4.10s. The 4.10s win by a landslide. < ---- sarcasm.

Literally the 4.10s were 51% and 3.73's were 49%. So you could see where this debate goes on forever, haha.

ESG got it... 3.55s with turbo
Personally, I think 4.10s are too much. You might as well just start off in 2nd gear
