probably a fair bit because they will have to depresurize the system and dispose of the toxic chemicals

theres alot of ways to get rid of weight. Ditch the spare, take out the back seat, take a laxative an hour before driving... heck, you could leave your hood in the garage and that could be 50lbs.

The question ended up being more interesting than I thought. The comment about venting the A/C into the intake came from the same moron that swears he put butane in his A/C to make it colder.... (he also slid a garbage can lid full of hot charcoal under his car to melt his fuel line freeze up). I can't believe he has made it to 30 years of age.

the butane comments is 100% possible and would work all the A/C system is is a cooling method by change of phase. when compressed the gas is a liquid but once you give it the opportunity to expand it changes phase to a gas where it absorbs the heat surrounding it making whatever its contained in very very cold... even frosty. this is why your can of butane gets cold if u expel it rapidly. the same for cans of compressed air.

As hot as it is right now in FL, I dont care if it gave me 200 hp. The A/C makes it barely possible to drive anywhere in this humid shit.

The butane in the A/C... I've heard of that from other people. I'm just a bit leary of a flammable gas under pressure near any heat sources like a CAR MOTOR. Anyways, its just nuts.

some of the stuff you hear about is so creative on one side but simply crazy on the other. Do the benefits outweigh the danger? Its like driving without the spare to me. If I lived in a crowded city it might be alright because theres somebody always around. But out here, sometimes help is more than an hour away... if at all.

yea thats true... but I worry becuase alot of A/C stuff ends up with leaks. Vapor leaks.

But hey, this guy had it in a 80s Toyota Carrola and he swore by it. Said it worked great. His car never blew up or anything. I still think its a bit on the crazy side.

Theres alot of gasses that would probably work. Probably not as well but it would probably cool a bit under pressure.
