hmmm... well... probably hundreds of things.

intake, LT headers, cams, IMs, supercharger, turbocharger, nitrous, lighter rims, better clutch, lightweight flywheel, upgrading internals...

Then there is 'free' horsepower like removing weight...

first of all remember that with more and more and more power after a while your going to be sacrificing drivability. Do you still want this to be a street car or what?

ooh and you might want an 8.8 rear axle to hold up all this horsepower your going to be pushing. and while you have the axle just get 4.10 gears installed...

use the search here, this question gets asked a lot, and if money is not an option and ur looking for SERIOUS power, sell the sixxer, get somethin with more power stock. but if u really wanna keep the v6, get u a 4.2 with a full build, then FI is the way to go

Most power you can get and keep it street able you say?

Well you measure power on a dyno so i'll say.

A. weight reduction: carbon fiber hood / trunk / tubular k member / take out your rear seats gut everything you can and keep it driveable

B. 4.3 from ssm with all the options & goodies.

C. TMA twin turbo kit with some form of a ball bearing turbocharger

D. Build a direct port nitrous system and jet it for as much power as your engine can handle.

E. Get the biggest baddest most expensive automatic tranny you can find with a huge stall and shift kit (or manual if you have to have one)

F. Beef up an 8.8 rear end to handle gobs of power

I think thats it. And your pockets better be deep cuz....

if u got that much money, u can buy a cobra and have it running like 7s for all that cash, lol.

but anyways, if ur gonna stick wit da 6, get a stroker engine like 4.2 or 4.3 and upgrade from there w/ exhaust, headers, h/x pipe, t-lok, gears, 8.8 axle, cams, heads, upper/lower intake, cai, tuner, ud pulleys. thats all ican think of right now w/o goin into forced induction. but to improve ur 1/4, u could also reduce weight w/ a tubular k-member, fiberglass/carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber trunk and wing, remove the spare tire and jack, remove the back seat(remove the passenger seat too if its just a racer). thats all i can think of rite now

speed

if you get carbon fiber parts..please paint them,

exhaust
intake
gears
8.8 rear
forged internals
TT or supercharger
bore and stroke
short throw shifter
upgraded ignition system
optimized fuel system
custom grinded cam
heads
wider rear tires
full suspension setup
roller rockers
better cooling system

and you'll have a hell of a six

A street legal 400rwhp turbo mustang will run about 18grand, Thats what I am doing within a month or less so that is an idea on price for power.

Wrong:
v6 = 15,000
cobra = 30,000

So your already 15grand in the hole buying Cobra....

I'm not an expert like some of you guys but, I can read and think. From this site and others, I've learned that the best thing to do to a stock car is first, make it breath better. This seems to be the cheapest, fastest, easiest way to get a good start.

Am I wrong.???.. if so, beat me down.

cages are needed for the track and when rolling over...so if ur not doing either ur cool....it does add more then just that for safety and stiffness of the car...but obviously all the people who said regardless of money and w.e.....i dont even bother responding to threads like that with products because they could just go get something else
