2.3 to 3.8 swap
is this swap even possible an what parts would be needed and what would make the perfect donor car gas is to high for a 5.0 an plus it seems like everyone has one

The difference is a 3300lb car vs a 2800lb car. But then again if gas mileage is the concern just keep the 4 banger.
The swap has been done. I would look for an 01-04 doner. You'll have to use your motor mounts on your kmember with any 97+ engine.

well I have an 86 3.8, and the mileage is the same as in my 02GT... around 16 city, 20 - 23 Hwy depending on how much of a bitch I'm driving like...
![]() i would just make a nice MILD 5.0 and run that with a manual trans and 2.93 gears or something. eventually this is my goal. although I might look for an AOD rather than a T5.
