Ford lightning f-150 engine in a 2001 v6 mustang?

So i went to the junkyard to buy my hood scoop. (which i did buy) and i saw a ford lightning engine from an f-150 for sale. Basically a supercharged v8 truck engine. It comes with the transmission and everything. all for 6,000 dollars. It has low mileage on it, i really want it. But i hafta save up for college. I might take out a loan and get it. But if any one else is interested.....i think its a really good deal. I'd be jealous if you got it though.

it will fit.

but it's a lot of work and money to make it fit.

don't take out a loan for car parts.

say hello to all new suspension motor and tranny mounts and an 8.8 rear end. otherwise ur car will fall apart the first time u hit the gas, also will need a bigger rad and tranny cooler. also will need the PCM master harnes, and the lightnings intake goes through the A/C system last time i saw one. oh yah for got u will need the Lightnings MAF as well. the v6 is to small and isnt calibrated for the S/C on the lightning or the injectors.

There's a lightning engine to Mustang GT swap write up on the net somewhere. I remember seeing it a year or two ago. You'll also need a hood that's ungodly tall. I've got a pic of one somewhere. It would be an awesome project.

Just a suggestion... But, you could cut a hole in the hood for the blower to stick out of. That would look better than the hideous cowl hood in the pictures.

I know a guy locally who has a Lightning motor is his 2002 GT...and hes still using the same intake unlike the pic above....and he drives it with no hood since he cant find one with the stock intake setup...from what I understand its a Tuning nightmare...and honestly V6 or GT doesnt matter...theres special fabrication that has to go with this project that will be changed regardless of the previous engine...also the tranny will be changed GT or not even tho my T5 is no different in size then a GT...but it still wouldnt be used....and his car is a bitch to tune and get running correctly...he cant even sell his car cause no1 will buy it...but that hood is real nice on the pic above...hmmm
