it wouldnt sound good with stock cam IMO. it would be REAL crackly and annoying loud. i have 2 cats and magnaflow (as you know) and it is almost annoying at WOT. and when i get above 2500rpms and the engine revs down, it just crackles and pops. these pops would be unbearably loud without 2 cats and mufflers. i dont know if you remember when i had that weld break right after my passenger side header and before the cat, but i was unmuffled and uncatted on the right side, smelled horrible (burnt gas), loud, obnoxious tone...

here's a cheap way to get a good sound: cut behind the first 2 cats, weld up some straight pipe (with H crossover) to some flowmaster 40 series mufflers and then just have tips turned down under then car. this will be VERY loud and muscular with the exhaust hitting up under the car and ground, but you will get some droning at highway speeds. also, dirt roads will kick up a ton of dust. but sound/power will be there.

cost: 150 for mufflers, 100 for H pipe fabrication and install. so 250-300 for the total setup and you will thank me later bro

yea your right man i had thought about that cause then its true duals and all and it will have a killer sound to it! And its cheaper than doing the bassani catback so im gonna take it over to the muff shop in the next couple weeks and see how much they would charge!

Straight pipes would sound like ass dude, no kidding. Flowmasters sound good even on sixxers, especially with no cats.

ill tell you the truth like i said up there i never heard a V6 stang with straight pipes but i did hear V8 stangs with straight pipes and in my opinion it sounds really bad so i can only imagine what a V6 would sound with it. i had flowmasters on my 94 sixer and it sounded very good. i was surprised when i first started it up. i was very pleased by the sound it produced.

Ah man, dont do it... When you take off its gonna sound like your dragging a wookie behind you. With a V6 I would recommned a Chambered muffler such a Flowmaster or MAC.

V8's arent even firing engines like our V6, atleast the 4.6 isnt atleast, so they will sound/run like ass with a straight pipe setup.

Heres a little vid of my stockity stock v6 exhaust

Not really true. My friends mom put straights on her 95 six. It didn't sound too bad.

I will see if I can get a sound clip. I never would have guessed them to be straights she had to tell me.....

the v6 won't sound too much like an eight, because of the even firing order but with a decent cam you can get the loppy idle sound.

95v6 w/open headers

95v6 w/no cats and flowmaster

you can also find some more sound clips here; http://www.3.8mustang.com/multimedia
