Cold air intake

Does it really matter if you get a name brand cold air intake or can i snag one from ebay and not worry about it, like this one for example...

is that sort of thing ok as long as i throw a k&n filter in it?

i believe it doesnt really matter performance wise because thats what ive been hearing everywhere . but name brand also covers lifetime warranty and i heard there is a sticker on the CAI and if you dont have it itll get you a ticket

build ur own, or ebay one, CAI doesnt make much difference at all until u start gettin bigger mods.

what cop is gonna give a ticket for a CAI

smog check will be failed also . its not worth having to put it on and off for emissions

so i'd ok with a $15 generic one than a $40 k&n, thats good to know, i'll probably get k&n anyways since im doing the whole exhaust and it would be helpful

yea either one will work, but from whats advertised, k&n flows better, but i havent tested it, but thats what i did, i built mine and got a K&N off ebay

no there is not sticker, smog test is the only thing they can get your for, and name brand intakes will give you more horse...mostly only like 1-2, if you buy a 25 dollar ebay one, get a better filter the ones they give you suck. JLT kits offer the most horse but are the hardest to put on.

get an ebay one and just swap out the filter, althu i had fitment issues with mine and had to cut the one pipe a little bit but it wasnt hard

only thing that really matter on the cai itself is the material and finish.

chrome metal will be hotter than plastic causing the air inside the tube to heat up rendering it.... useless. ket the k&n intake and filter.

course without a suffiecient amount mods intakes are pretty much pointless anyway.

what are you talking about it^....theres a difference between the car at idle and driving on the road...the pipe of course is gona get hot but thats not the point of it...its when the throttle is open taking in air when u feel the pipe getting cooler...and when your driving its staying cool.....if it didnt serve a purose they wouldnt be selling it...and people wouldnt be spending money on it
