Will 99-04 GT FR500 rims fit a 00 V6?

I have a friend that just bought a 2000 V6 mustang for his son. He hates the factory 15 inch rims. He likes the FR500 rims. will a set of 17's fit the V6 ok? and what width tires should he go with? Im assuming since it's a V6 he doesn't really need staggered wheels.

Yes they fit well.
And its always good to have more traction. Put him out on wet roads and thnk shit, i coulda had alot more tire on their to keep him planted.

Besides, it makes the car look really good.

They'll fit fine. Tire width depends on wheel width and whether or not he wants to be able to rotate tires. 255s would work just fine on 9" wide wheels. And while his car may not need staggered wheels, they do improve the look of the car. A lot of us run staggered wheels on our V6s (including myself).

Yea I told him to get the fr500 package from AM with tires.. but the package is for 275's... i told him i would think 255's would be fine and not to worry bout gettin the staggered wheels.. so he is going to call them and see can he get a package deal with 255's and maybe price will be a little cheaper.

u answered ur own question in the title.

as for the staggered setup i run staggered nittos and they are great even in the rain. rear end doesnt break away as easy on exit ramps unless i want them too

I wasn't sure if GT rims were same offset as V6.. and my buddy already ordered them for his son.. His son is getting his first car and it's a suprise.. he has a 2000 Silver V6 in the paint shop right now getting it detailed with some black stripes or something.. and He called me knowing I am a mustang guy. I showed him the Bullits, Cobras, Saleens, and FR500's and he picked the FR500's... his son is gonna be tickled.. lol He ordered them from AM. But they came with 275/40/17's all the way around on four 9" rims.. I told him 275's all the way around seemed like over kill.. but hey if they fit, it's cool.

I have 18X9 18x10 Black FR500s. 275's up front. 285s rear. both/35s Not enough side wall protection IMO. Scuffed a rim sad day.

17X8 18X10 FTW :p

the 275 tire all around would be fine. I have that on my car. the 255 up front will work, but Id leave the 275 on the back.

If he opts for the 17x10.5s get the 315/35/17s. His son will love them, the wide tire on the back is the best look in my opinion

THe only rub I get is on full crank. and a small spacer on the back will put the wheel flush with the fender, same as the front

Gloss black? A little can of interior/exterior gloss black enamel and a small paint brush will fix up scuffs. Only way anyone will be able to tell is if they get right down next to your wheels and look closely. I've had to touch up 3 of my wheels. 2 got curbed, 1 fell over in my garage.

18x10.5 is a tough size to find if you want a good looking wheel. I was looking for that size when I got my wheels and ended up settling for 18x10s.
