Thisis my last attempt

This will be my last attempt at my exhaust. I now have true duals with IMCO mufflers. I have MAC long-tubes being shipped to my house right now (UPS told me that today). I saw an exhaust shop on the way to my car, so I stopped in and asked about the new 44's. They didn't have any info, but they said they recommended Cherry Bombs. I listened to a set of them on a truck and I wasn't impressed. He tried to talk me into dual Cherry Bomb class-packs, but that isn't what I want. He showed me some X-pipes that they make that I really liked. The problem with the X-pipe is that they are only made (by them) in 2.5 inch diameter. I've been thinking that I want this: 2 stock converters, MAC long-tube headers, X-pipe, my same IMCO mufflers, and my same tips. I really don't care if it is that loud, I want the most performance (X-pipe), and I DO NOT want it ricey in upper RPM's. Does this sound like a good set-up? Another thing, they make the things that you can open up and run open headers. You know what i'm talking about? Its like a Y-pipe on each side, that you can uncap while racing. Would this benefit when I go racing, or would it hurt me because of no back pressure? One more question, 2.1/4 or 2.5 inch tubing? I think 2.5, but what do you think?

your car doesnt have the power to go open header or cut off the y pipe. you'll lose power. ESPECIALLY if you go open header

Open headers sounds like ass on our cars and we need some back pressure, but LT's X pipe and catback is a good setup

Ok, forget that idea. I want the most hp and I DO NOT want it to sound ricey up top. I do not care if it is that loud. 2.1/2 or 2.5 inch piping? (I know about the power-band being moved up with 2.5)

2.5 isnt bad...your gonna feel the power but I hate wiating for it, and I think you mean 2.1/4 or 2.25 in piping is always safe unless you start making big power...I planned ahead

don't do dumps, get h over x if no rice, get 2 and a quarter unless you plan on bigger power

he is talking if the 2.5" pipe were to go on, he would loose low end torque (basically pushing your powerband higher in the RPM'S) and by doing that, you forfeit horsepower in the higher RPMS.
