exhaust wtf
so im looking to do my flowmaster 40 dual exhaust with an h pipe fabricated and 3.5 tips out the rear, ive called 3 exhaust shops and the average price is $600?!?!? everyone here is seeing 300-400? what gives?

Area you're in.
Meineke installed my x-pipe and hacked up gt duals for $300. Drove the car there running open headers. They fully welded the whole thing as well. I have no clamps under the car.

Look for little "mom and pop" sort of shops. They tend to be a little easier on the wallet and if you make it clear that you're paying in cash, they're more likely to "ignore" the laws and set you up with exactly what you want even if it's illegal.

i live in raynham, MA. i called the local shops such as lous custom exhaust and pauls and they usually have a good price

well my dad works at an advance auto parts so im hoping to get 2 flowmaster 40 mufflers with a discount, now i have to find tips tho. i think im going to run 2.5 pipes so for tips do i need 2.5 inlet and i was thinking 3.5 diameter... like this: Summit Racing SUM-690043 - Summit Racing® Stainless Steel Exhaust Tips - Overview - SummitRacing.com ???

Umm I went to monroe 3 wks ago and cost me 440 aafter tax but I only supplied the two flowmaster org 40s they bought the hangers ect...

YEah it's all about area. I was out of luck when I had to pay $600 for my setup. And that came from a small shop in my town.

yep small town shop here charged me $650, i was crying on every dollar as i handed it to them, then i started and said...okay that was worth it! It just depends on your location and the shop i guess
