That's what I've heard as well. Personally, it's not something I'd fuck with.

the reason its not a popular as SCT is because hardly any tuning shops se it.

i know a shop by me that actually uses sniper

From what ive heard you can pulg the tuner in your laptop and change and adjust stuff and its easier to use than an sct handheld.

i have no expirenece with it though

I'd stick with SCT for a few reasons.

1. Very, very few shops use this. If you ever go for a dyno tune chances are you'll need to buy a new tuner.

2. All you can really do is change a few more presets like you can with the SCT. Their full tuning software costs a lot(just like the SCT pro racer package). Here's a link to the "upgrade" that you would need to actually do your own tuning with it. http://www.deltaforcetuning.com/Comm...co-5000upg.htm

3. I really wouldn't trust their presets and they don't give you the option to make little changes. It's still a canned tune and isn't going to be very accurate at all.

When I was looking to get a tuner, I asked the same question.
I tried emailing Sniper with my questions and never got a response, so I emailed them a few more times over a two month period even tried calling however never got through to anyone. I emailed SCT once and got a reply by the end of the day.

I bought the SCT tuner and upon recieving it I managed to mess something on it up, so I emailed them and we got it fixed.

I would stick with SCT purely due to there excellent customer service.

thats odd. the only good thing about sniper is you can buy a "bullet" which allows you to tune two cars with the same tuner. a year ago me and my friend were gonna do it since it would be way cheaper then buying one sct each. he has an 09 though and at the time they didnt have 2009 mustang supported tuning yet. only 05-08. i emailed them and asked if the 05-08 tune software would work with the 09 and they replied back the next day and said no but they will becoming out with the software that supported 09's in a couple months. He ended up getting an sct off AM and since i was getting a dyno tune anyway for my h/c/i i didnt care about the free tune for life stuff so i just got one used.

if you ever plan on getting a dyno tune, get sct.

This is pretty much the consensus.

Although if you have a mildly modded car and are fairly inclined to tuning, Sniper can be excellent for you. One of the shop techs I worked with who was a big Mustang fanatic (owned 4) used it exclusively, and loved it. It seemed to work great for his applications.

It seems like an in-between, between having a basic SCT and a tuner do it for you, and getting the SCT PRP package and doing it all yourself.
