Oil pan bolt size

NOT the drain plug.

im missing two bolts off th front of my oil pan, they may have broke off and its causing a leak.

does anyone know the size of the bolts? i heard they are metric but i was wondering if anyone knew the exact size.

Probably 6x1 mm. Take out one of the bolts and take it to a hardware store to match the thread size. If they broke off you first have to get the broken off part out. An easy out would probably work or get the correct size tap and drill bit and drill out the old bolt and tap the thread.

thanks i took care of it earlier today

i ended up taking one bolt out then went to the hardware store. they actually did turn out to be 6x1.

looks like whoever had the car before me had the oil pan off and didnt even bother to replace the two screws he probably lost. the thing i thought was a broken off bolt inside the hole was actually the oil pan gasket blocking the inside of the hole. i had to poke through it to put the bolt in. so im guessing the wrong gasket is on their as well because it didnt have a hole in the gasket for the bolt hole if ya know what im sayin.

For anyone who was wondering in case they ever need the bolt...

Oil pan mounting bolts i used were metric 6x1x20mm along with some 6mm lock washers. Torqued it to 10 ft lbs

haha thanks man, its no biggie though.

i was at my gf's house when i posted which is right by home depot so i could get the bolts on the way home, rather then going home to take one off and run back out to the store to get it.
