Alright... ready????
I have an 04 vert and going to assume its not much different. My wife pulled out of the garage last year and ran my Stang down the side of my Durango. Among other small things, she busted the mirror off. I was able to fix mine with some industrial adhesive but if you broke off the screw housings, you might have to buy a new mirror. To me, they are expensive but if you go with an aftermarket from an online site like Autoanything.com or a junkyard, you'll be fine. The only difference with the aftermarket stuff is that (I was told this by the dealer) is that it may fade sooner than your stock mirror on the other side becuase of a difference in the quality of plastic. That could be bullshit though, your call. Anyway, if your mirror is salvageable try to reuse it. Taking the old one off and a new one on is easy. You shouldnt have any issues becuase its pretty straightforward. There is that triangular panel on the inside front of the door. The one on the interior side of the mirror. All you have to do is pop that panel off. Its not held in by any screws or anything. It just pops off if you pull on it. If you need to, use a screwdriver to pry it up a bit. Once you get it off, you'll see the screws inside. If you have power mirrors, disconnect the wires first ( should be like a "quick connect," just pull it apart). Then just remove the screws and thats it. When you put the new one in ( or used one, whatever), just do it in reverse. Connect the power supply for the mirror motor and line up the screws and put her in. Snap that triangular cover back on and your good to go. I left my power disconnected in mine becuase the motor broke. So I dont have power on that side... big deal. I never need to move the mirror anyway. If I do, I just do it by hand. If your even slightly mechanical, you'll have no problem doing this at all. Post back on here if you have issues when you do it. If I can't help you, there are some very smart people here that can.
