Not sure if you still need advice on the exhaust but these guys seem to know what there talkin about. I have a 2004 3.9l mustang. I put long tube pacesetter headers on with the pacesetter x mid pipe then had to use about 2 foot peace of 2 1/2" pipe on each side to get the mufflers back far enough, by the way I went with 40 series flowmasters and left it at that. No cats and it sounds deep and strong at idle and screams it's a$$ off after 3500rpm. I know a v6 will never sound like a v8 but with this set-it's the closest thing to it and has that really deep sexy idle rumble too. Good luck on what ever u decide.
