Battery Grounding Questions

So, I know the stock ground for the negative battery terminal is on the passenger side, near the transmission (If I remember correctly). What would happen if you changed where you ground the battery? When I did my swap, I got frustrated trying to loosen the bolt on the cable and couldn't get a wrench to hold the bolt opposite side, so I just cut it and grounded somewhere else on the engine. I assumed that as long as the ground is on the engine, I would be alright. (Probably bad to assume things since I don't know much about wiring/electricity) Would it have caused any problems? (By the way, I am not having any electrical problems, so far as I know. I just want to confirm it's not part of my stalling problem. It'd be better to clear any possibilities from my head.)

It shouldn't be an issue as long as you used a crimp on style lug - none of that set screw crap that people use for installing amps. If you grounded it to a similar area on the block (beefy area without a ton of heat) you should be fine.

I'm uneasy about where I grounded it. It's on the front passenger side, near the A/C compressor if I remember right....I think I'm going to change it just for peace of mind and try to put it near where it originally was. Maybe it is part of my problem because I can see it getting some heat there....
