Pony Update

Hey All,

Just wanna give you guys an update. Ever since I got my 2003 Pony Edition, I've been on MM (thanks to my bro) and have followed to the letter most of your advise and went through with what works with the budget. So far... I'M LOVIN IT!

Here she was posted for sale (105,000 KM) and went ahead and took care of her.

A fee weeks after getting her... some lady smashed into me full on while stopped at a right:

Well... she did get fixed up after she smacked my ass.. but here he is now after taking off the snow tires:

So far since September last year here i the list of what's been "ModdedMustanged":

20% Tinted Windows
Shaved GT Rear Bumper Cover (I think... thanks for the ass smack lady)
Custom Fabbed Divorced Duals
Mach 1 Take Off Exhaust
Staggered 18" Ruff Racing 5-Spoke Chrome Wheels with Lip (18x8.5 and 18x9.5)
Cooper Zeon uni-directional tires with 245 fronts and 275 rears
(I actually got a set of 4 18x8.5 wheels with 245's and a set of 2 18x9.5 with 275's)

So far I'm lovin how she looks and all. BBBUUTTT... now I'm looking at the rest of her. Just like a woman, it ain't all about the looks.

Plan for the summer is "ModdedMustangs" power plant and drive train (as per budget of course) and maybe some DYI:

DYI ... cut stock springs or look for used GT springs to cut and install
Fenderwell CAI (She seems so air-starved so I'll put on the CAI for now and Craiglist it after)
Windstar Intake (Will decide between cost of VAP system and DYI Windstar by my friendly machine shop)
Port Polish (If I have to install the Windstar, I may as well do a post polish... with a dremmel if need be)
Comp Cams (This one I'll have to consider carfully budget-wise even though the top part of the engine is dismantled)

Winter build seems promising since the machine shop friend with 2 supecharged 3.5 v6, 1 supercharge v8 and 2 turboed v6's is looking forward to play with her:

Intercooled Turbo setup for 1,800 including tune with what ever I can give him to start with (Turbo, Intercooler and some parts are already there)

Will decide on T-Lok and gears after I decide if I do go ahead with turbo or not... (Will say goodbye to the 275's though because of the one-wheel-peel)

Modding a V8 Mustang is a no brainer... a turbo v6 mustang is something of an enigma... like a box of chocolates.

Thanks to all you guys for steering us all in the right direction.

Adryan

Pony package was just some visual upgrades. Running pony rocker decals, GT hood scoop, stuff like that.

i know what a pony package is...i've had two v6's with it...just never heard anyone call it a pony edition lol. the only two differences in the 03-04 pony packages are the interiors and the pony graphics on the side...which im glad the 04's didn't have lol

The '03 Pony Package is the GT with a 2 cylinder delete and Stampede Graphics

I'll post a vid soon... the loud whinning from the power steering (which Ford dealership said that it works perfectly and that there's nothing they can do about it) sounds like twin screws. Coupled with the Mach1 take-offs, blends in nicely. Being a stick, makes it more fun.

But seriously, with all these very minor mods, it makes a great difference from when I first got her.

I'd like to thank McQueen for advising me to hold out on my first considerations and look for something that works for our cars. I did and it seems to work. I got the 4 18x8.5, 2 18x9.5, 4 245's and the 2 275's all in perfect for $600.... oh, plus 1 snow tire Even though he sold it for a way higher price for the staggered set of 4 and that it's been posted for weeks, I told him over the phone my budget and that I'll be there in 30 minutes and give him cash money if all looks good (but actually handed it to his wife) even if he was 80 kms away. Got there, looked good, gave me everything since he already sold the car to get a truck .... and that was that.

LOVE MY PONY.. well, actually my daughter's. Told her it's hers when she gets her license next year.

Adryan

You should get a shorty antenna. It'll make it look a bit slicker.
