2000 V6 Mustang -> 1997 Cobra Cluster Swap

Just wondering if i could swap the cluster out of a 1997 cobra mustang into my 2000 v6.
If not, which will work? I love the look of the cobra clusters but for my year the only cobra was the cobra r and that cluster runs 600+

Thanks

You could, getting it to work would be a different situation all together.

99 cobra / 01 cobra
or
03 / 04

So your saying that the 99 or 2001 cobra and the 2003 and 2004 would work better?
What would be the trouble in swapping them, basically after buying the cluster what would it come down to with making it work properly

honestly i don't think they will fit (97 cobra that is..NE cobra is a different story), but if you like the look of a cobra cluster and don't want to spend that much money look for a used set of "el glow" gauges...that's what i did on my old v6

the reason i say used is because nobody makes them anymore...but maybe someone on here may know a link i haven't seen. if so that's great because i'd love another set

if, and i mean if you can find el glows then they just lay over the factory gauges...you remove the oe bulbs, and wire the new covers into the gauge clusters power line..it takes all of 15-20 minutes to do it all

if not and you have the cash you can look into autometer gauge clusters...their pricey but give the look you want

a dealer or tuner would need to recalibrate the gauges for the sensors in your car for one...the pats system may be affected here but i don't know for sure since i've only used slips and not a full swap...someone else will need to jump in for that answer

I think PATS would need to be bypassed. I know when my friend did his to the GT guages it was bypassed at the dealership.

As for the 97 Cobra, it has the mechanical odometer and not the digital one, so that's one issue, its also got the separate trip meter so thats number 2, I also think the connector from the needle to the actual device that turns the needle is different. Hell it may even be a different brand...

To be safe stick to the same generation of mustangs, example 99-04 and the rest.
