crank no start

got a 2000 v6 3.8 mustang cranks no start suddenly after leaving a party...the theft lite flashes but idk if thats it....we replaced the coil pack after a mechanic told us it wasnt gettin any fire..still not working...but what i was wondering is this....after we tried resetting the security system by leavin the battery disconected for a few mins and after we connected the battery the wipers started going...and the keys werent even in the ignition.....anyone have a similar problem? hoping its something we can fix without goin to a dealership ..

Have you checked all the cylinders for spark? Could also be a fuel issue. You might have spark but nothing to ignite.

The pats system is keeping the ignition from firing.... you need to have that fixed..

shouldn't it disable if he puts his key in? (granted it's not a copy and is chipped)

I would think it would, i'm wondering what kicked it off in the first place. Maybe he he puts the key in and waits a minute to see if it'll go off.

My theft light always blinks as well. @OP do you press the button on your keyfob to unlock doors or do you turn the key in the door?

do you have the keyfob? if so try to arm the alarm. Press button twice until horn honks. Then unlock it using the key fob

no i only have the key...does the windshield wipers and radio working with no key in ignition sound to be anything related to this

I'm not sure. I know that pats system fucks with your electrical so it very well could be. try turning the key in the door twice (unlock it turning key twice in same direction)

also turn the key to on position in the ignition. Keep an eye on the theft light. should flash and then stop after 15-20 seconds. Try to turn ignition over when light turns off

Yeah, the theft light blinking is sometimes normal for when you try to start it and it wont. When my battery died the theft light blunk and i was flipping out for a good while until i came back outside and realized that it was just a dead battery.

Like the others said, check for cylinder fire, your fuel, your spark plugs. Whatever else you can. Because if it's a PATS it's going to be a pain in the ass to get your car started again, and you're more then likely going to have to go to a dealership to get the PATS disabled.
