IAC Adjustments

Does anyone know the type of tool you use to adjust the IAC spring tension? It looks like an allen key but only 5 sided...

you shouldn't need to adjust your idle man. clean the iac if your having idle issues. its factory preset.

Cleaned out but engine still rev's down really slow, likes to stay in the 1500 range but takes like 4 seconds to get down to that from 3k... not in neutral, engine acts beautiful in neutral. Put it in first gear, take off, hit 3k, push clutch in, hangs at 3k for 3/4 sec, then OH SO SLOWLY down to 1500... sometimes it'll go down to 900 or sometimes hang at 1500. I took it off and adjusted it w/ pliers and it helped a bit but I don't wanna waste the time to keep doing that... I just wanna turn the screw, the 5 sided funky screw that I don't have a driver for...

No but soon I'll be getting a tuner, hopefully to try to solve the issue as well as HP gains if the IAC isn't doing it.

As Jug said, you souldn't attempt to manually adjust the IAC valve. It's setting corresponds with idle settings in your car's computer.

The slow rev down is there by design. It's part of the OEM tune that is there to help emissions. Annoying as hell, yes. But it's there for a reason. If you get a tuner or chip, you can ask the provider if they can take the slow rev down out of the tune.

Well that's good to hear because it frequently hangs on 1500 RPMs and will not come down ever until the next time I take off or something, sometimes it even hangs at like 3000 for 3-4 seconds (Which seems like forever) before it slowly backs down then hangs at 1500 permanently. Went through 3 TPS, All kinds of idle settings, cleaned the IAC, I'm out of ideas...
